John has very good knowledge of the game. Understands his role and knows where to be. Must work on speend and agility. His a tremendously hard worker, both offensively and defensively. Great attitude. Has good upside, and can play at the next level in the right situation.

2012: With eight goals and a career-high five assists, Murphy (Yarmouth, Maine) totaled 21 points in 2012, leading Bates in all three categories... earned All-NESCAC recognition for the second straight year... Murphy finished his career with 22 goals and 15 assists. As a junior, he was able to amass the most points for a Bates player since the 2005 season, with nine goals and four assists, for 22 points... Picked to play in the 2012 NEISL Division III All-Star Game

2011: Named to NESCAC Men’s Soccer All-Conference Second Team…. Led Bates with nine goals and four assists, the most points for a Bates player since the 2005 season... Murphy totaled nine goals and four assists, for 22 points. He ranked second in the NESCAC in points per game (1.57); he was also third in goals per game (0.67) and tied for sixth in assists per game (0.29).
